Evidence and source limits

The September 2024 octreotide acetate injection label covers acromegaly in specified circumstances and symptomatic treatment of metastatic carcinoid tumors and VIP-secreting tumors. Its routes and limitations are product-specific.

Warnings include cardiac-function changes, gallstones, altered blood glucose and thyroid function, fat malabsorption and vitamin B12 changes. Symptom control must not be rewritten as proof of tumor shrinkage.

Approval applies to the specific labeled product, route and indication, not every preparation of this ingredient or a wellness mixture. Read the original full label and discuss individual circumstances with a medical professional. No dosing or preparation instructions are included.
