Evidence and source limits

The FDA-hosted Gattex prescribing information revised September 2025 describes teduglutide as a 33-amino-acid glucagon-like peptide-2 analog. Its indication is adults and children one year and older with short bowel syndrome who depend on parenteral support. That population and requirement should not be erased in broader peptide claims.

The label warns about acceleration of neoplastic growth, intestinal obstruction, biliary and pancreatic disease, fluid overload including congestive heart failure, and increased absorption of oral medicines. It describes clinical evaluation and monitoring requirements; this short note is not a substitute for those instructions.

Evidence and approval for the named prescription product do not establish that a research or compounded version is safe or equivalent. This page does not promise freedom from parenteral support, recommend treatment, give doses or injection instructions, or link to sellers. Decisions belong with a licensed clinician familiar with the patient's condition.
